Wildforms - Decorative Typeface

The Concept
The intention behind this project was go beyond the conventional function of typography. Rather than serving only as a vehicle for written communication, the letterforms were designed to also act as visual compositions.
From a distance, the letters read clearly as structured forms. Upon closer inspection, viewers discover hidden animals and botanical elements carefully integrated into the letters.

Creative Process
Phase 1 – Sketch Exploration
Organic exploration of animal and plant silhouettes
Experimenting with how natural forms could fit together in a way that maintains the legibility of the lettering.
Phase 2 – Digital Development (Illustrator)
Redrawing and refining vector paths
Adjusting proportions to maintain typographic cohesion
Ensuring consistent visual weight across characters

Key Design Challenges
One of the main challenges was balancing visual complexity with structural clarity. Because each letter contains multiple illustrative elements, maintaining consistency and a perfect fit required significant refinement.
Another challenge was preserving legibility while allowing organic irregularities to coexist within the letterforms.
